A moment of silence that's hard to describe. When two children who don't usually get along, are sitting together creating music at the piano, laughing, enjoying each other. I live for these times.

My daughter is a fiend.

The whole family of six went to Texas for Christmas, through ice and snow and crazy airports. We got to Houston no worse for the wear and enjoyed an amazing, sunny hot Christmas with family. Golf, dogs, climbin' trees, good times.

This post is for Kellen, who is turning into a fantastic young woman. She was chosen out of thousands of kids all around Seattle to recite one of her poems before WS Merwin at Benaroya Hall downtown. It was a big deal. We're so proud of you, Kellen.
